3. is for the way you ask questions.......I KNOW!!!

We are guessing at Moo moo's age is when the 50 questions start. I remember going through all this when my younger sister E was little (we are 16 yrs in age difference) and it used to drive me up the wall. Being only a teenager my tolerance levels weren’t that great. Now on the other hand….a little bit better.

When we have conversations, Moo moo as she begins to think always says “I Know”.... followed with a pause and at the same time her little pointer moving next to her mouth and out comes what she has thought of. When the "I know" is spoken, Papa (hubby) and I already know we are in dangerous waters as she always asks for things she is not allowed to do or eat.

I know..... Mummy, Papa, Can I go in my pool? (on a 20 degree day, I don't think so).

I know..... Mummy, Can I have a coffee? (hell NO)

I know..... Papa, Can we go to wash the car? (for the millionth time this week)

I know ….. Mummy, Can I have a chocolate (um, NO. Not at 6pm at night)

And the questions keep coming. We are sure that at 13 years of age the "I Know" won't be the start of a question but a statement because at the age of 13 they know everything!!!

The funniest is when she asks questions about gender differences. She constantly says she is a boy because her cousin is a boy. Explaining the difference is where all the funny questions start, especially when she asks to see so she can tell the difference. Poor Papa freaks right out.
We also get the “What is she doings?” about everyone and everything. Her curiosity about the world makes her little brain tick so fast that she needs to know about everything surrounding her and why they are doing what they do.

What is the tree doings?

What is the horse doings?

What is the man doings?

After the question is asked, it’s the “Why?” This is the killer word because no matter how you answer her it just doesn’t stop until Moo moo is satisfied with the answers given to end that curiosity. It can go on for hours……..

An understanding of the natural world and what's in it is a source of not only a great curiosity but great fulfillment.

2. is for the funny things you get EXCITED about.

At the age of 2.5yrs getting EXCITED over the smallest thing is a common occurrence. Whether it’s our cat Queen B running on our deck or a helicopter flying over, Moo moo finds it all exciting.

One of the funniest things Moo moo is getting excited about is going to the toilet. In our household of three we are currently in week 3 of toilet training. By far we think that this has been the hardest thing we have had to do in Moo moo 2.5yrs (well as far as we can remember). The first two days were the worst and Moo moo would not go to the toilet or on the potty, it was so frustrating! We were positive that Moo moo wasn't ready and on the third day something in her little head clicked. From that day onwards she would get so excited to hear herself pee until she decided to take the leap and do number 2’s. Then the excitement happens every time she does number 2’s. The big cheesy grin, saying goodbye to what’s going to be flushed down the toilet then followed by the proud “I’m such a big girl” walk, priceless! The funniest thing is when she gets excited when we go to the toilet (yes, we don’t get privacy anymore) and then she praises us. Poor Moo moo will be so embarrassed reading back on this and that everyone will know these things, oh well.

Excitement also comes in the form of freshly squeezed juices, cars and especially trucks! (Well actually she gets excited over food in general, our baby girl loves to eat). Moo moo loves to visit Auntie LRS especially because on the drive over there she can see all the working trucks. There’s a dozer, there’s a loader, there’s a digger then followed by “what are they doing’s?” We are so proud of our little tomboy and very impressed that she knows all the names of the trucks. As a kid, my mum used to buy LRS and myself matchbox cars and I especially loved the cars that we could open the doors.

Moo moo’s excitement over freshly squeezed juices became so much that going to the shopping centre we could not get away without buying her a boost juice. They were making a killing from us!! Papa (Hubby) thought about all the money we were spending on juice weekly that one day he came home with a whizz bang juicer. Moo moo loves her juicer and so far the juicer hasn’t let us down and it’s so easy to clean. We are still working out whether it spits out enough juice considering all the fruit we cut up.

What we would love to see through her beautiful eyes. Her excitement over all these things makes us get excited.

1. is for the BIG Imagination you have....

We have always been big on encouraging  Moo moo to have a big imagination and right now at 2.5yrs her two favourite things to do is act like a dog, especially mimicking our family dog Coco and dancing around the house like Mumble from Happy Feet.

Acting like a puppy dog has it's moments, she licks the floor, licks us, pants and woofs. Oh and yesterday Moo moo added Dorothy the dinosaurs tail so she would be more like a dog, classic!
We try and take a step back to see the funny side to this but we can't handle the licking. We try to reassure ourselves that her immune will only get stronger by licking up all those germs.

Moo moo dancing like Happy Feet is absolutely hilarious to watch, especially when you look at her face and see the concentration. That's her new way of getting around the house (it's a type of shuffling but to her it's dancing), who are we to argue. It's just too cute.

Another example of how big her imagination is, is when on a cloudy and grey day she can manage to see cloud animals. Our adult eyes cannot make them out only because it's complete cloud cover but we go along with her. We love feeding her IMAGINATION and brings out our inner child too.

Does your child love to role play and have a big Imagination?

As a child my older sister (LRS) and I had very big imaginations. We would pretend we were contestants in the TV show Double Dare and create an entire obstacle course in our backyard, we would pretend our beds were boats in a sea of water with sharks swimming around and I would always wonder what it would be like to fly (lucky for my mama I never tried to).

At 2.5yrs her imagination is so big we cannot wait to see what else she comes up with.

I leave you with the wise words of Albert Einstein.“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

The Beginning

I had decided that this year I wanted our little household of three to focus on FAMILY, LOVE and being GRATEFUL so whilst browsing on Pinterest I came across this idea and the caption on it was 52 Reasons Why I Love You "a great way to feel loved". I thought it was such a good idea, why not start this project in my household of three and this project will also cross two of those words off my list. I kept thinking about how I could persuade my husband to take part in this (he always says "not another project") and this was one project he was not escaping from. I came up with the answer, "Yes honey, another one of my projects but this one we will do for our little munchkin Moo Moo" and so he agreed with a little of persuasion.

We are aiming our 52 Reasons Why We love You (slight change) to the little munchkin of our household Moo moo and thought it would be great for when she is older to look back on this and read though it all. The way our little project works is that every week (hence 52) we write a reason why we love her that week, being only two and a half it will also be a great way for us to remember all the little things that we may forget come 20yrs from now and find solace during the terrible two"s, terrible three"s etc.........

Here is our little jar of LOVE.

Happy Reading.........
